I’m so excited to share this book with you, because essentially it’s the book I needed when I was deep in the trenches of grief. I remember not long after Travis died Googling blogs, searching for books, and finding Instagram accounts that spoke about grief. I desperately wanted to feel seen and understood.  I didn’t really even know my own feelings, and I needed to hear from other people that have walked this journey to help me navigate these early days.  Connecting with these stories validated my own feelings.  Just a small phrase of acknowledgement in these words would bring me to tears because it reminded me that I was not alone in this journey.  

 

In the process, I discovered that grief casts a wide net.  It does not solely belong to those who have lost a loved one.  I could learn so much about navigating my own grief from people that experienced it from a variety of sources.  

 

And this is my hope for you, my reader.  Whatever the source, you feel seen and understood in your own journey.  Our details may be different, and still our need for connection brings us here.  I am so delighted to share my story with you, and doing my part in connecting our hearts.
